Rhoda Needlman is a signature member and recipient of the prestigious title "Master Pastelist", awarded to her by the Pastel Society of America.
Spending summers in the Catskill Mountains has endeared her to the landscape, which always exhibited an intensity of emotion, a sense of mystery and everlasting beauty. Her creativity and refined sense of color and composition have resulted in unique paintings. She is an accomplished violinist which serves to enhance her artistic expression.
She has served as a juror for art shows, was chosen to exhibit in the NASA Hubble Space Art Collection, and is published in several art books – the most recent, "Pure Pastel - Contemporary Works by Today's Artists" published in 2019 by Northlight Books. A feature article appeared in The Pastel Journal Magazine in 2002.
She has exhibited in many museums and galleries, some of which are: Butler Institute of American Art, Ohio; Heckscher Museum, NY; Hermitage Museum, VA; Nassau County Museum of Art, NY; and National Arts Club, New York.
She has received many awards and is included in many private art collections.
